Essai de figure en plein-air : Femme à l'ombrelle tournée vers la gauche, 1886
|Artist||Monet, Oscar-Claude||Alice’s third daughter Suzanne inspired Monet to paint two versions of this picture. Suzanne was 18 at the time and possibly reminded him of Camille, whom he had painted in a similar pose several years before. He painted her against the light, barely sketching her features, bit capturing instead the play of light and shade created by the sunshade.
|Medium||Oil on canvas|
