28 March 1868 Cuno Amiet is born in Solothurn, Switzerland

1883 Graduates from the Kantonsschule Solothurn

1886–1888 Attends the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Becomes a friend with Giovanni Giacometti

1888-1892 Studies at the Académie Julian under Adolphe-William Bouguereau, Tony Robert-Fleury and Gabriel Ferrier. Joines the Pont-Aven School

1893 Returns to Switzerland, where he sets up a studio in Hellsau

1894 Holds the first exposition at the Kunsthalle Basel

1898 Gets marrid to Anna Luder von Hellsau and moves to Oschwand

1900 Wins a silver medal in the Exposition Universelle

1919 Gets awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Berne

1931 Fire in the MZnchner Glaspalast destroys 50 of his most significant works

6 July 1961 Dies in Oschwand
