26 January 1861  Louis Anquetin is born in 3ò4trépagny, France

1872-1880 Studies at the Lycee Pierre Corneille in Rouen

1882 Goes to Paris and begins studying art at Léon Bonnat's studio, where he meets Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

1883 Moves to the studio of Fernand Cormon, where becomes friends with 3ò4mile Bernard and Vincent van Gogh

1887 With Bernard develops a painting style – cloisonnism

1889 Participates in a major exhibition at the Paris Exposition with other painters like Paul Gauguin, Leon Faucher, Daniel George, Emile Bernard, Louis Roy, Charles Laval and Charles Filiger

1891 Exhibits at the Salon des Independents of ten of his best works

1894  Goes to Belgium and Holland along with Toulouse-Lautrec and Joseph Albert

1894-1896 Studies anatomy in the laboratory of Professor Arroux in Clamart

1901 His former teacher invites him to paint murals in a hotel

1906 Marries Berthe Coquinot

1924 Publishes his book 'Rubens'

19 August 1932 Dies in Paris
