12 July 1824 Eugène Louis Boudin is born at Honfleur

1835 Family move to Le Havre

1847 Starts painting and goes to Paris

1850 Earns a scholarship that enables him to move to Paris

1856-1857 Befriends Claude Monet

1859 Meets Gustave Courbet and poet/art critic Charles Baudelaire

1861 Divides his time between Paris during the winter and the Normandy coast during the summer

1874 Participates in the first Impressionist exhibition

1889 Receives a gold medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle

1892 Boudin is made a knight of the Légion d'honneur

1892 -1895 Makes regular trips to Venice
