21 July 1858 Franz Heinrich Louis Corinth is born in Tapiau (Gvardeysk), Province of Prussia, Kingdom of Prussia            

1880 Studies under Franz von Defregger and later under Ludwig Làfftz, Munich, Germany            

1884 - 1887 Studies in Paris at the Academie Julian, Paris, France            

1890 Wins an honourable mention at the Paris Salon           

1891 Becomes a founding member of the Munich 'Sezession'

1901 Opens a painting school for women in Berlin           

1911 Elected chairman of the Berlin 'Sezession'

1915 Elected president of the Berlin 'Sezession'

1917 Awarded the title of Professor by 'Akademie der KZnste' in Berlin           

1918 - 1919 After a summer holiday at Urfeld on Lake Walchensee, Corinth acquired a property there and began to build his own house            

1925 Travels to Amsterdam to see works by Rembrandt and Frans Hals

17 July 1925 Dies in Zandvoort, Netherlands
