1898 Takes his first trip to Paris to study at the Louvre. Goes to France almost every summer for the next ten years

1913 Participates in Post Impressionist and Futurist exhibition at London's Dore Gallery

1920s Settled in a studio in London

1923 First solo exhibition

1928 Moves to Paris

1939 Moves to Glasgow

1940 Founds the New Art Club
