Iintroduced Impressionism into Catalonia and was one of the artists who contributed to the revival of Spanish landscape painting. He worked for many years in Paris, where he won a bronze medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle, in Palma in Majorca and in New York. Most of his paintings show his preference for bright colouring, and his quick lively touch. He has a real sense of atmosphere and loves to paint heavy clouds and stormy light effects.
