April 20, 1850 Jean-François Raffaëlli is born in Paris

1871 He begins three months of study under Jean-Léon Géréme at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris

1877 Exhibits at the Salon

1880 and 1881 Degas invites Raffaëlli to participate in the Impressionist exhibitions

1889 He is awarded the Legion d'honneur

1895 and 1897 Goes to New York

February 11, 1924 Raffaëlli dies in Paris
