11 November 1863 Paul Victor Jules Signac is born in Paris
1877 Enrols at the Coll?ge Rollin in Montmartre
1884 Becomes involved with the French literary symbolists. Meets Claude Monet and Georges Seurat
June 11, 1884 Signac, Seurat, Charles Angrand and Henri Edmond Cross forme the Société des Artistes Indépendants and from mid-December 1884, through January 17, 1885, the group holds its first exhibition in Paris to benefit cholera victims
1885 Meets Pissarro
1886 Signac exhibits at the eighth and final Impressionist exhibition, though his and Seurat's presence in the exhibition causes something of a controversy that is only smoothed over through Pissarro's intercession. Meets Vincent van Gogh in Paris
1887 With Vincent van Gogh regularly goes to Asni?res-sur-Seine, where they paint such subjects as river landscapes and cafés
1888 Travels to Brussels to exhibit at the Salon des XX
1889 Visits Vincent van Gogh at Arles
1892 Marries Berthe Robl?s. Has seven paintings exhibited in the eighth exhibition held by the Neo-Impressionists
1897 The Signacs move to a new apartment in the Castel Béranger. Acquires a house in Saint-Tropez called La Hune
1909 Signac exhibits three pieces at the International Exhibition, better known as the Odessa Salon: "Traghetto Lantern," "Diablerets," and "Port Decorated with Flags, Saint-Tropez.
1913 Separates with his wife Berthe. Rents a house at Antibes
1933 Signac is made a commander of the Legion of Honor
1935 Participates in the 46th exhibition of the Société des Artistes Indépendants
15 August 1935 Dies in Paris
