Chronology

October 8, 1868 Max Slevogt is born in Landshut, Germany

1885 to 1889 Studies at the Munich Academy

1889 Visits Paris, where he attends the Académie Julian

1889-1890 Lives in Italy

1890 Returns to Munich

1897 Has his first solo exhibition in Vienna

1898 Attends a Rembrandt exhibition in Holland

1900 Travels to Paris, where he is represented in the German pavilion of the world exhibition with the work Scheherezade

1901 Joins the Berlin Secession. Settles in Berlin. He is appointed professor at the Munich Art Academy

1914 Has a trip to Egypt and Italy. Becomes a member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin

1929 Is given a large 60th birthday exhibition in the Prussian academy of the arts in Berlin

September 20, 1932 Dies at Leinsweiler
