May 22, 1848  Friedrich Hermann Carl Uhde is born in Wolkenburg, Saxony

1866 He is admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden

1867 - 1877 He is a professor of horsemanship to the regiment of the assembled guard

1877 Uhde moves to Munich to attend the Academy of Fine Arts

1879 He travels to Paris where his studies of the Dutch painters continue under Mihàly Munkàcsy's supervision

1882 Makes a journey to Holland

1890 Uhde becomes a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich

1911 He dies in Munich
