Movement Impressionism

Corot helped Vignon with advice at the beginning of his career, and he was also influenced by Monet. Vignon loved painting from nature and out in the country he belonged to the Impressionists group and exhibited with them, and his clear colouring and fondness for painting out of doors are typically Impressionist. He worked chiefly in the Auvers district, Chaponval and Nesles-la-Vallee. His painting is traditional in its care for composition and sense of volume, while his love for quiet landscapes and clear skies is often reminiscent of Pissarro.
