He was the son and pupil of the sculptor Pietro Zandomeneghi. From about 1862-1866 he worked in Florence, and in Venice from 1866-1874, before going to Paris where he joined the Impressionists group and exhibited at the Salon des Independants. His subjects include Paris cafe and street scenes (By the Seine, Square d' Auvers, Paris) as well as portraits. Diego Martelli, whose portrait he painted, was also painted by Degas, with whose work Zandomeneghi's has a certain affinity.
