Chronology

July 3, 1852 Theodore Robinson is  in Irasburg, Vermont

1874 Journeys to New York City to attend classes at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League

1876 Travels to Paris to study under Carolus-Duran and at the 3ò4cole des Beaux-Arts, with Jean-Léon Géréme

1877 First exhibits his paintings at the  Salon in Paris. Spends the summer of that year at Grez-sur-Loing

1879 Goes to Venice and Bologna, then returns to the United States

1884 Robinson returns to France

1888 Becomes friends with Monet

1892 Leaving France Obtains a teaching position with the Brooklyn Art School and conducts summer classes in Napanoch, New York, and at Evelyn College in Princeton

April 2, 1896 Theodore Robinson dies in New York City
